Like any reasonable millennial, I spend a lot of time on TikTok. The algorithm is amazing at showing me all kinds of treasures.
(Sure, my brain is kind of fried and my attention span has shortened, but I regret nothing.)
As an indie hacker, you have two jobs:
- Creating your product
- Promoting your product
That’s it. And TikTok is a great platform for doing the promotion side.
Why TikTok?
In 2024, over 900 million users visit TikTok every day. On average, users spend 58 minutes on TikTok each day.
That’s a staggering 870 million hours of attention spent DAILY on the platform.
Whenever I see these stats, I think, “I should learn how to make short videos.” And I know I’m not the only one.
Most digital entrepreneurs have considered using TikTok. But why haven’t they?
“I don’t want to dance!”
TikTok gets a bad rap from people who don’t use it. If you were as hooked on the platform as I am, you’d know there’s much more than just dancing and trendy challenges.
Publishing on TikTok doesn’t have to feel hard or require a ton of effort.
If you want to start on TikTok:
- You don’t need to be a master storyteller.
- You don’t need a professional studio.
- You don’t need advanced video editing skills.
- You don’t have to show your face.
- You don’t need to talk
- And you definitely don’t need to dance.
My mission is to erase all these myths from your mind. So today, I’m going to show you how you can promote your product in an easy way.
